pampelmousse design inc.

thought i would post a few images from one of my most favorite design firms in new york. delphine krakoff (reed's wife...) started pamplemousse design inc in 2000 and continues to create fresh and innovative spaces for her very lucky clients. there is a common theme in each project but its clear every space has been designed with a different lifestyle in mind. to me that's the mark of a great designer, to create a space which involves your expertise and ideas but looks as though a decorator was never even there.

side note: pamplemousse (grapefruit) also happens to be my favorite french word...

hot.hot.hot.

i'm just back from THE most fantastic trip to northern California, where it was in the 60's/70's and sunny....perfect jeans, tshirt and a chic scarf weather. apparently i missed a horribly hot weekend full of humidity back in new york...this weekend doesn't seem to be looking too humid, but the heat is definitely here! hope you all are outside or near the water....more posts to come about my trip to SFO soon.

happy fourth of july!

this idyllic little cove looks perfect for a classic fourth of july picnic; baguettes, cheese, something sweet for dessert and of course some rose. where will you be enjoying the fireworks from tonight?

uxua casa.

this weekend wasn't as sunny as i'd hoped, but it allowed me to do a whole lot of lounging and relaxing. this hotel in brazil is one place i'd love to jet off to for an ultimate luxe vaca full of relaxing and lounging. the decor is rustic and minimal--very native and natural looking.

the Uxua Casa Hotel is set in an old fishing village on the southern coast of Brazil. the design was done by Wilbert Das and is certainly in keeping with the authentic history of the village--in fact, a lot of the furniture incorporates local pieces from old abandoned farmhouses, tree trunks, fishing boats, coconut shells and beyond...i love discovering new places to explore, especially when they have such rich design to appreciate

hope you had a relaxing weekend!

pools.

these past few days have been pretty hot, and without any AC working in my office i've found myself daydreaming about jumping into a refreshing pool for an instant cool-off. these are just a few that i wouldn't mind dipping into...
