thursday styles.

inspired (most) every week by the new york times section, and in honor of the opening day of NYC's spring fashion week, im creating my own thursday styles section right here on my blog!

i was lucky enough to kick of fashion week by attending a fabulous presentation of the new menswear line roark. the clothes (and the crowd) were pretty rugged/hipster cool, it was a very low key yet innovative presentation. it made me miss being in the fashion world at BPCM and InStyle, it's so creative and fun at times...but then i remember the craziness that ensues and my head starts to spin a little...nonetheless my love for fashion is, like in any great relationship, un-conditional. so without further ado, here are a few looks from the spring 2011 collections (showed at fall 2010 fashion week) that i would LOVE to be prancing around in this coming season...

brights. are. back.

the always chic neutral.

calvin klein (minimal/played down)

the show-stopper.
this is my most favorite look, it makes me feel like jetting off to barcelona and doing flamenco in the streets!

*note the closed necklines and the one shoulder silhouettes....we saw lots of this at the golden globes too and i'm sure we'll be seeing more as the spring issues hit the stands.

*one more fashion news tidbit since i am an avid follower of her/her style, amanda brooks has been named the new fashion director of barney's, congrats to her! she has such a great eye for fashion i think, i'm excited to see what she does for the infamous brand at her new post!
